- 1½ lb. fruit
- 2 cups water
- ¾ cup sugar.
- For the fruit, strawberries for instance, make a simply syrup with 2 cups water and ¾ cup sugar.
- The amount of sugar varies with the acidity of the fruit.
- Cool before pouring into an ice cream churner.
- For a lighter sherbet add some Italian meringue before churning.
